Basketball Opens with Jammin at the Justice

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's basketball season
kicked off the 2006-07 season with the second annual Jammin at the Justice
Friday night at Justice Center.

Both teams were introduced to the near capacity crowd as the Bulldogs begin
preparations for the 2006-07 season. Highlighting the evening was a three-point
contest between the teams and a slam-dunk contest by the men's squad.

Junior guard Bryan Smithson took home the slam dunk title with four
impressive dunks.

basketball with him on the playground in the neighborhood.  It has stayed with him for all these years.  Today,
Bryan wears this name tattooed on his upper arm.
